  • The meeting was called to order in the Kilaga Springs Placer Room at 4:30pm by President Dean Schumacher.
  • Pres. Dean introduced our visitors: John & Rosalinda Stoffel, Gayle Avila and Allan & Clarisa Wong. There were 38 members present.
  • Minutes: The August minutes were posted and approved by the membership.
  • Treasurer's Report: Bill Bisson posted his report online and the membership approved the report.
  • Sunshine Report: Renee Honnoll reported Vicki White had a heart issue but our member is doing well now.
  • Membership: Sharlene Zielinski reported we have 9 new rigs to date.
  • Rallies 2018
  • Chico: Aug. 28th-31st. Almond Tree RV Park : Wagon Masters were Marlowe & Sharon Skar. . The Rally was a lot of fun. Sharon reported the members visited an Flume Glass shop, the Orient. The Master Artist was awesome to watch. He is Internationally known. Members also visited the Sierra Nevada Brewery and enjoyed their night at the Theater to see the play “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”. Also Wine tasting at a Winery run by Monks.
  • Laguna Beach: August 14th~17th: even tho this Rally was cancelled a few members did attend. Mary Romo gave us a report on how wonderful the Pageant of the Masters was to see. There were 3 couples who attended the Pageant and all were so impressed. Good weather and awesome time was had by those in attendance.
  • Petaluma: Oct.21st-24th. Wagon Masters are Gail Hamilton & Cara Roberts. So far there are 19 rigs signed up. For more info, call the Wagon Masters.
  • The Rally will be held at the Petaluma KOA . The Wagon Masters have been working hard on this Rally and a lot of Fun activities are planned. The reservations must be made directly to KOA and also let your Wagon Masters know you are going.The club's application must also be filled out before members can attend the Rally. If you are thinking of going please ASAP call your Wagon Masters.
  • Christmas Party: December 1st. Marillee Swanson chairperson has a lovely evening planned for us all. Betty Schumacher spoke for Marilee who was unable to attend the meeting. Invites will go out Nov.1st. The cost will be same as last year, $35 per person and party is to be held at Turkey Creek Golf Club. Music and dancing.   • 2019 RALLIES
  • Rallies that are being planned are:
  • January: Malibu / Desert Hot Springs Calif. & Casa Grande AZ.
  • Wagon Masters are Cara & Eric Roberts.
  • JANUARY 28th, arrive Malibu Beach RV Park~ Depart:~ January 31st.
  • Caliente Springs RV Resort: Desert Hot Springs: arrive Jan.31st.depart Feb.3rd and head to Casa Grande AZ.
  • Casa Grande AZ-arrive Feb. 3rd and depart Feb.10th Members can go on any or all of this menu of places.
  • Please call Cara & Eric if you are interested so they can determine the number of members who may like to attend this rally. The options are there for whatever part of the Rally you chose. The Wagon Masters need to know soon who is thinking of joining the rally. These places fill up fast in the Fall months as people make their plans for the New Year, January and February are two of the busiest months in Southern Calif and AZ.
  • February: Napa: Need a Wagon Master.
  • March 18th-22nd: Solvang,Wagon Master Margie & Roger Housley. As of the meeting date, Margie is asking for a Co-Wagon Master to assist with the Rally. Please let Margie know if you are able to help!
  • RV Park will be Flying Flags near Buellton, There will be wine tasting, shopping, local bakeries etc.
  • April 14th-20th: Santa Cruz, Vicki & Coleman White & Marggi Holtze are Wagon Masters. RV Park is in the Felton area near the Santa Cruz Redwoods.
  • May 12th-17th : Yosemite,Yosemite Lakes RV Park, Groveland. Need Wagon Master! And Co-Wagon Master...
  • June/July: Shasta/Bend/Sisters.. Cara Roberts has offered to help Wagon Master this Rally. Gail Hamilton has offered to assist. BIG THANK YOU to both ladies !! The options for this trip are all or part of menu of places and most likely  wagon masters for each part of trip would be fun! Please call the Wagon Masters if interested .
  • Shasta~Abrams Lake RV, Bend/Sisters~Rogue River Valley of the Rogue RV park, Garden RV Park in Glacier Nat'l Park. Couer D' Alene Blackwell Island Rv Park : More info to follow on this rally.
  • August: Graeagle, (north of Truckee), Need a Wagon Master.
  • September 23rd-28th: Marina Dunes, Wagon Masters will be Marilee Swanson & Rosie Eads. There are 25 sites reserved. Location is near Fort Ord in Seaside. Please contact Wagon Masters if you are interested .
  • September 30th-Oct. 4Th: California Redwoods at Bendbow RV Park in Garberville. Wagon Master is needed for this Rally.
  • November 11th - 21st: Escondito, Sharon & Marlowe Skar will be the Wagon Masters.  This is Northeast of San Diego.
  • December: Christmas Party
  • OLD BUSINESS: Election of new officers~ Dean asked for volunteers to offer their time for the open positions.. As of the meeting, Steve Beede has graciously offered to step up as President for the coming year. Dean thinks he possibly has a member for VP position and Marggi Holtze has offered to be Secretary. Treasurer will be Bill Bisson.We need a VP #2 which is helpful for two members to fill this position. Also we need a Historian as of the last meeting date.Please let Dean know if you are able to be part of the leadership for next years' club officers.
  • NEW BUSINESS: Bob Zielinski spoke regarding the CPR/ AED class given at OC each year. He needs to know if  members are interested to attending this class.
  • The man who teaches the class travels here from AZ each year. Several members showed interest at the meeting to take the class. If you are interested please call or email Bob and let him know ASAP. THE DATE OF CLASS WILL BE OUT AS SOON AS BOB KNOWS HOW MANY ARE INTERESTED. Pres. Dean mentioned once members are trained on the AED machine, we can check it out at Kilaga fitness center and take on rallies with us. The renewal for CPR/AED certification is every 2 years. Members who are currently certified have been taking the AED machine on rallies.
  • Member Vicki White asked how many members were interested in the SPRING FLING again for next year and everyone was thrilled at the idea.  This would include Potluck and Music and dancing at the Pavilion.
  • HISTORIAN: Jayne Clark let us know she has her “handy work” on display at OC in the window boxes which show the clubs pictures etc. Please go by and view our RV group display; “Thank You” Jayne, this is "a project" and Jayne has always made it look so easy and wonderful the way she shows the FUN we have on Rallies etc. This being her last year, we all "THANK YOU" Jayne for all the time and effort you have given the club with taking pictures on Rallies and keeping our club "in the Know “ at OC!
  • EXTRA NEWS: Julie Africa who is part of the PLAYERS GROUP here at SCLH spoke of the upcoming Broadway play MARQUEE MEMORIES. The dates are November 15th&16th~ 7pm. And November 17th~ 2pm & 7pm. General seating : $15 and Premium seating~$20. Several members of our RV Club will be in the play so get your tickets soon!!
