Lincoln Hills RV Group Minutes
January 10, 2019
The meeting held in Kilaga Springs Placer Room at 4:30 was called to order by President Steve Beede with 40 members and guests attending.
President Steve introduced several guests: Dick and Pat Furr, Dick Horn and Cathy Wolfe, Mike and Sheryl Perrin and Astrid and Mark Garner.
Minutes - The minutes were approved as posted online.
Treasurer’s Report – Treasurer, Bill Bisson’s report was approved as posted online.
Membership – Sharlene Zielinski was not at the meeting.
Sunshine Report- Renee Honnoll sent out two cards to each Larry and to Margie Jewett.
Rallies – Vice President, Susan Brenden gave the report on rallies. She mentioned we all had a great time at the Christmas party at Turkey Creek. The 2019 Christmas party will be December 7 at Turkey Creek.
Casa Grande: Cara Roberts reported on the multi-destination trip January 27-31, 2019 trip. Everyone will meet at Bakersfield on January 27 with everyone making their own reservations but plan to go together to Desert Hot Springs, Anza Borrego Springs and Casa Grande, AZ.
Solvang, March 18-22: Marge Housley reported that you could go one day earlier for $75 if you make your reservations yourself. Sites will be released on March
- She mentioned activities could include going to wineries or to the Motorcycle Museum.
Santa Cruz April 14-20: Marggi Holtze reported that the kids will be on Easter Break that week and some of the main attractions will be crowded. She said the application will be sent out shortly. Bill Bisson volunteered to be in charge of golf outings.
Yosemite May 12-17: If we don’t have a wagon master, the trip will be cancelled.
Shasta/Rogue River/Bend/and Calgary Stampede June-July: Steve Beebe talked at length about this 7 part trip which you can go to in part or the whole. On June 23, members will meet at McCloud, making your own reservations. In Sisters, 20 sites are held open, and there have been 10 reservations made at Tamarack RV Park for Couer D’ Alene, which has a great golf course. If you go to the Calgary Stampede, you can come back any way you want to Banff, Jasper, Glacier National Park or Yellowstone.
August – Graeagle: We need a wagon master. Renee offered to help anyone who will be wagon master. It is a nice place only 2 ½ hours away.
September 23-28 Marina Dunes: The wagon masters, Doug and Merilee Swanson and Bill and Linda Fagan said they have 25 sites and need to know who is going by July.
October 7 – 11 Escondido: Sharon and Marlowe Skar will be the wagon masters.
Susan finished her report by saying she will be sending out a survey using “Survey Monkey” about the rallies you may be interested in. She mentioned places like Palm Desert, Ashland, OR, or Desert Hot Springs. Or any new place you would like to go.
Steve asked for a volunteer to help Susan with her big job to be Assistant Vice President, because planning all the rallies for 2020 will be a big job.
Jayne Clark said she will no longer be historian and had all the former year’s scrapbooks available. Linda Fagan will be the new Historian but was not at the meeting. There is a list of every place the RV club has gone.
Steve said Ricki will put all the photos of rallies on the website. He said he hoped to have a screen to show the photos so we can see photos of rigs and places to go on a big screen in the future. The website works well.
Steve told about how he volunteered to be wagon master, not knowing much about it, but many people helped them.
Steve thanked Sheryl for helping word a new application. He reminded us we have an AED unit for use on each trip.
Steve asked who had birthdays in January and Jim Clark had a birthday January 27, Steve in January 25 and Marlowe’s was January 4.
Dean and Betty Schumacher celebrated their 36th anniversary.
Steve asked if any planned to buy a new rig and since three couples raised their hands, he offered to loan them an RV comparison guide book.
Steve said he hopes to have an education part to the meetings, perhaps during the meal. Marggi said Dennis Malone could answer mechanical questions. As part of the education, members could submit a “Question of the Month”.
