Meeting Minutes

November 14, 2019

Call to Order:  President Steve Beede called the meeting to order with 41 members present. He introduced new prospective members, Mindy Emmons and Ron Darville and Maureen and Ed Williams.

President’s Report

Report on Octoberfest:  Vicki Colman reported that a great time was had by all.  The Skars wore cute costumes and provided great German songs for the band.  We enjoyed good brats and teriyaki chicken along with the wonderful pot luck dishes.

Holiday Party:  Vicki reminded us of the Christmas party at Turkey Creek Saturday, December 7th.  The new manager will provide a good buffet of steak and chicken.  We will enjoy Steve Evan’s dance band.  In a discussion about the dance floor, she said it will cost $200 but Ed Hartnett offered to pay for putting the floor down.  Steve spontaneously lifted the leftover bowl from Octoberfest and suggested we take up a collection.  It was passed around and many were very generous.  Vicki pointed out that there were 80 people attending last year and any more will be too many for a dance floor.  She suggested we think about going to the Orchard Creek Ballroom next year because there is plenty of room and a big dance floor.  Others spoke in favor of the idea.

Election of Officers:  Steve read the names of the slate for elected positions.

Steve opened meeting to member’s trips and many members told of various trips they had taken this year.  Steve commented on the longest trip was made by Ed and Judy Dillon who drove all over the U.S. for four months.  They spoke highly of putting their RV on a ship to Labrador when they went to Newfoundland.  They warned about going to the South Eastern states in October.  It took hours to find a place to stay and one resort had celebrated Halloween every night in October.  At one KOA, they had 200 kids come asking for candy.
