MINUTES

 

1. Call to Order (Jake Baker) – the meeting was called to order at
4:30 p.m. There were 34 club members in attendance, plus 2
new members – Mary and Gregory Montoya.

2. Welcome Guests (Jake Baker) – Six guests attended the meeting.
Karen and Gary McGraw, Keith Betchley and Lee Ann Carni, and
Sharyn and Gary Pendleton. The club welcomed the guests.

3. Membership Report (Tari Briscoe) – Tari reported that there are
now 55 households in the club. The Montoya’s were introduced
as former members who have rejoined the club. Jake mentioned
that Mike Romo is at the meeting and can take club member
pictures for the website.

4. Approve Minutes of March 8, 2024 (Jake Baker) – A motion to
approve the minutes was made by Bill Bisson, seconded by Terri
Stubblefield. Motion was passed.

5. Approve Treasurer’s Reports of March and April 2024 (Jake
Baker) – Jake stated the Treasurer reports for March and April
2024 were distributed to the membership. Maureen Williams
explained the background on the reports. A motion to approve
the reports was made by Cindy Mason, seconded by Ed Williams.
Motion was passed.

6. Sunshine Report (Cindy Keller) – no report from Cindy; Ron
Lunsford reported that Diane Bergeron is progressing well after
her recent surgery.

7. Historian Report (Mary Romo) – not present

8. Social Chair Report (Diane Bergeron) – Mary Carbrey reported
for Diane. The invitation for the May 6th “Cinco de Seis” will be
coming out soon. It will be a Mexican theme, cost is $24 per
person, time from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will be a no host bar
that needs to generate $400 in sales to cover the cost of the bar
set up. There will be games for the group.

The Holiday Party is scheduled for December 12th at Turkey
Creek.

9. Vice President Report for Rallies (Ron Lunsford)
a. Rally Updates – Ron asked the wagon masters to report the
current status on the following rallies:
i. Mountain Gate RV Park, Redding. April 18 – 23.
Wagon Master Ron Lunsford. Ron explained that the rally is
next week and has a big group of 20 rigs coming. The
planned activities include a tour of Shasta Dam, exploring
the Shasta Caverns at Shasta Lake, group dinner, golf, ice
cream social, Red Bluff Rodeo, etc.
ii. Flying Flags RV Resort, Buellton/Solvang. May 13 –
May 17th. Wagon Masters Robyn Kain & Janet Phillips.
Robyn advised that they have 7 rigs currently signed up. The
itinerary is being finalized but will include a barrel room
private tasting at Fess Parker Winery, going to the Ostrich
Farm, group dinner, potluck and various other activities.
iii. Coachland RV Park, Truckee. June 20 – 24. Wagon
Masters are Jake Baker and Frank Mason. The rally has 2
spots available. Activities will include a day train trip from
Carson City to Virginia City; touring the Thunderbird House,
golfing; hiking.
iv. Bodega Bay RV Park, Bodega Bay. July 8 -12. Wagon
Master Roy Deeble. The rally is full. If anyone wants to
attend, they will need to contact the park and see if they can
get a spot.
v. Jackson Rancheria RV Park, Jackson. September 8 – 13.
Wagon Master Betty Schumacher. Tari reported for Betty
stating that Betty went to the RV Park recently. Although
construction is underway to expand the park, there was
minimal disruption to their stay. There is one space left for
the rally.
vi. Balloon Festival, Albuquerque, NM. September 20 –
October 10. Wagon Master Patty Holderfield. The rally is
full with 14 rigs. RV park reservations have been secured.
vii. Feather Falls RV Park, Oroville; November 3 – 8. Ron
Lunsford reported for Vicki and Coleman White, wagon
masters for the group. A rally application form will be
coming out soon, 24 spaces are available to reserve.
b. The 2025 rallies are being worked on to set dates and
locations for next year.

10. Unfinished Business (Jake Baker)
a. Report on Lifestyle Expo – Mary Carbrey reported that the
Lifestyle Expo with the RV club open house was a success.
There were 7 rigs, demonstrating different types of campers
including Class A/B/C and travel trailers. We had lots of
visitors and plan to repeat this next year.
b. Profile Picture for Website – Mary explained that we were
able to take a great group club photo from the Expo which
will be used for the upcoming club ad in the August Compass
issue. It will be put on the website in the near future.

11. New Business (Jake Baker) – Jake explained that due to his
absence, Vicki White will chair the next meeting. The idea from
the last meeting to get business cards for RV club members to
pass to potential members has been approved, and a card is
being developed for printing.

12. Open Comments (All) – Janet Phillips mentioned that she has a
valid Canda Parks pass good thru July 31, 2024 if anyone is
interested in it.

13. Adjournment – a motion was made to adjourn the meeting at
4:57 by Patty Holderfield, seconded by Roy Deeble. Motion
passed.
