MINUTES

 

 

1. Call to Order (Jake Baker) – the meeting was called to order at
4:35 p.m. There were 39 club members in attendance.

2. Welcome Guests (Jake Baker) – no new members present.

3. Membership Report (Tari Briscoe) - there are 56 household
members in the club. Mary Romo explained how to get your
pictures posted to the website. If you have an existing picture
from a trip, you send it to Mary and she will forward it to Robyn
Kain to post on the website. Mary will also take pictures with
the landscaping around the lodge if you want a picture taken
after the meeting.

4. Approve Minutes of May 9, 2024 (Jake Baker) - a motion to
approve the minutes was made by Steve Stubblefield, seconded
by Mary Romo; motion passed.

5. Approve Treasurer’s Reports of May 2024 (Jake Baker)
a. Highlights and Changes – Maureen Williams – Maureen
reported that the checking account currently has a balance of
$9,000.

b. A motion to approve the treasurer reports was made by
Elena Shroyer, seconded by Bill Fagan; motion passed.

6. Sunshine Report (Cindy Keller) – Al Giuliani is still recovering
from his illness, had to go back to the ER, but is glad to be back
home. Mary Romo is coordinating meals being delivered to the
Giuliani’s for the month of June and will follow up with those
that have volunteered. Lenny Venturi had a recent injury, as did
Janet Phillips who fell off a ladder.

7. Historian Report (Mary Romo) – Mary provided information
about the RV Museum in Elkhart, IN. There are You Tube videos
on their website that are very informative. The first RV is a 1913
Earl. She encouraged everyone to google the museum to learn
about RV history.

8. Social Chair Report (Diane Bergeron)
a. December 12th Holiday party at Turkey Creek – the party is
still on schedule.

9. Vice President Report for Rallies (Ron Lunsford)
a. 2024 Rally Updates – reports were given on the 2024 rallies.
i. Flying Flags RV Resort, Buellton/Solvang. May 13 –
May 17th. Wagon Master Robyn Kain reported on the
successful rally last month. There were private wine
tastings for the group and a trip to the Ostrich Farm
which was very entertaining. Mary Romo coordinated
a new game where a secret about each person was
collected and then the group had to guess whose
secret belonged to whom. The burn your meat potluck
was excellent. It was a great trip!
ii. Coachland RV Park, Truckee. June 20 – 24. Wagon
Masters are Jake Baker and Frank Mason. Activities
include a day train trip from Virginia City to Carson
City; touring the Thunderbird House, golfing; hiking.
iii. Bodega Bay RV Park, Bodega Bay. July 8 -12. Wagon
Master Roy Deeble. The rally is full. If anyone wants to
attend, they will need to contact the park and see if
they can get a spot, let Roy know if you plan to join the
rally. He just sent out the proposed itinerary for the
rally which includes wine tasting, golf, hiking.
iv. Jackson Rancheria RV Park, Jackson. September 8 – 13.
Wagon Master Betty Schumacher. Tari Biscoe reported
that the rally is full but is accepting waitlist requests.
v. Balloon Festival, Albuquerque, NM. September 20 –
October 10. Wagon Master Patty Holderfield. The rally
is full. A pre-trip get together and dinner is planned for
September 5th for everyone to meet and get final
details.
vi. Feather Falls RV Park, Oroville; November 3 – 8.
Wagon Master Vicki & Coleman White, Assistant
Wagon Masters Mary & Mike Romo. Vicki White stated
13 to 14 rigs are already signed up. Will send out the
application again for more signups.
b. 2025 Rally Plans – Ron Lunsford discussed the 2025 proposed
rallies. Wagon Masters are needed. The rallies include:
i. January & February – open
ii. March 20 – 25: Catalina Spa RV Resort in Desert Hot
Springs
iii. April 10 – 14: Flag City RV Park in Lodi; the Asparagus
Festival will be in Stockton.
iv. May 28 – June 1: Almond Tree RV Park in Chico
v. June & July: Carson City, Nevada
vi. August – Monterey Fairgrounds
vii. September 17 – 21: Pismo Beach
viii. September 21 – 25: Misson Bay RV Park, San Diego
ix. October 28 – November 2: Vineyards RV Park,
Vacaville

10. Unfinished Business (Jake Baker) – none.

11. New Business (Jake Baker) - Ron Darville is working on a new
logo for our group communications The Compass Ad is being
finalized for the August publication.

12. Open Comments (All) –
a. For the July meeting only, Jake announced that the meeting
will be held in the Heights/Gable meeting room at Orchard
Creek Lodge.
b. Dennis Bair had materials to give to those that are attending
an upcoming Elks Lodge orientation.
c. Robyn Kain is looking for volunteers to help her with the
minutes for the months of July, August, September and
October. She will be traveling those months and will miss the
club meetings. She will be home periodically between trips.
She is looking for people who can take notes on the agenda
at each meeting and then forward those to her. She will be
able to prepare the minutes from those notes. Please
contact her if you can assist.

13. Adjournment – A motion was made by Vicki White to adjourn
the meeting at 4:55 p.m., seconded by Mike Romo; motion
passed.
