MINUTES

1. Call to Order (Jake Baker) – the meeting was called to order at 4:32 p.m. There were 48 club members and three guests present. Jake thanked Robyn Kain for leading last months meeting when so many board members were absent, it seems the group had a productive meeting.

2. Welcome Guests (Jake Baker) – Mark and Janet Quillan have just moved to Sun City and are interested in the club. They have a truck camper which they enjoy. Nancy Cole was visiting the club to learn more about it and does not yet have an RV.

3. Membership Report (Cindy Aimar) – there are no new members for the past month. The club has 62 households and 120 members.

4. Approve Minutes of March 13, 2025 (Jake Baker) – a motion was made by Mary Romo to approve the minutes, seconded by Terri Stubblefield. Motion passed.

5. Treasurer’s Report of February 2025 (Jake Baker) – Jake highlighted that a large expense was made in February to pay for reservations at the Pismo and Mission Bay resorts in September. This shows why it still is necessary to maintain an adequate reserve for such expenses as some parks still require an upfront payment, rather than taking reservations from individual club members. The club may not be able to reduce the retained balance any further. A motion to approve the financials was made by Mike Romo, seconded by Al Giuliani. Motion passed.

6. Sunshine Report (Cyndy Mason) – Cyndy reported that there were five surgeries the past month. Cards with good wishes have been sent to all.

7. Historian Report (Ron Darville) – Ron showed off the display boards he made from the rally at Desert Hot Springs last month. A great time was had by all.
a. Mary Romo reminded members to see her if you need to add a picture for the member rally page on the website. She also reviewed common RV questions to test club members knowledge.

8. Social Chair Report (Diane Bergeron) – Diane Bergeron reviewed the upcoming May 13th Spring Fling called “Flower Power”. Please send in your payment of $23 per person by May 1st so she can get an accurate count. The caterer will be Dicky’s BBQ. Music will be karaoke style, Steve Beede will coordinate the music. There will be a no host bar for everyone to purchase drinks. The event announcement is also being sent to former club members.

9. Vice President Report for Rallies (Ron Lunsford)
a. 2025 Rally Updates –
i. Ron Lunsford reviewed the successful Desert Hot Springs rally from last month. There were lots of games designed by Ron, and many activities that everyone enjoyed.
ii. Robyn Kain reviewed the activities planned for the Grass Valley rally in April. Many activities are planned, including a particularly exciting event at the Annual Tulip Festival that will be ongoing while we are there. There will be pickle ball at the RV resort, golfing nearby, tour of the Empire Mine, local shopping, group dinner at a local restaurant, and other activities. In addition, the LH Photo Club is sponsoring an event called 7 Days in Spring to highlight SCLH clubs in action. Dale Petersen and Robyn Kain will be taking pictures during the rally. Ron Lunsford suggested everyone review the website for specific directions to the RV park, navigation apps will take you to a narrow road that is not best for driving with RVs.
iii. Steve Beede, Wagon Master, reported on the planning for the Arcata rally in northern California with the kinetic races in May – the racers have to self propel their racing machine by human power only and cover 50 miles over the course of the weekend. Other activities include a brewery tour, group dinner, burn your meat BBQ, etc. Sixteen rigs are signed up but more can sign up by contacting the RV park.
iv. Mary and Mike Romo are the wagon masters for the Minden, NV rally in June. Activities include a ranch picnic, visit to a distillery and exploring the Genoa area. There is room for more signups.
v. In August, the Lake Siskiyou rally will be held. Interested club members have already reserved their spaces. Ken and Marilyn Brenk are the lead Wagon Masters and Richard & Glenda Beckler are the assistants. Six rigs are signed up so far, so there is room for more rigs. Ken explained that he knows the contractor that built the Lake Siskiyou campgrounds and has extensive knowledge of the area. Ken will be meeting with him to get more ideas for rally activities.
vi. Patty Holderfield was not present, but it was indicated that the Pismo Coast rally is full. They plan to have a dinner on the beach one evening. Space is still available for Mission Bay RV in San Diego.
vii. Ron reported that the Vacaville rally is still on, details will come soon.
b. Ideas for 2026 rallies – Ron explained that he has set up the interest sheets for people to sign if they are interested in the tentative schedule locations – this is not a commitment but just an indication for planning purposes. Locations include the California coast, Clio/Graeagle, Angeles Camp, Paso Robles, Couer D’Alene, Oregon, and Heber City, Utah so far. Ron will continue to work on this.
c. Club plaques – Ron still has RV rig plaques with the club logo available for sale at $30 each which includes the mounting brackets.

10. Unfinished Business (Jake Baker)
a. Vicki White shared that she finished the display case at the Orchard Creek Lodge that features the RV Group. It is available for viewing now.
