MINUTES

1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Vice President Cara Roberts at
4:30 p.m., chairing the meeting in place of President Mary Romo who was not
able to attend the meeting.

2. Introduction of New Members/Guests: A total of 40 persons were in
attendance, including guest Gary Hexom who is interested in acquiring an RV.
New member Diana Peters introduced herself; she is a 6 year resident and
recently acquired a 1967 Airstream and is looking forward to the club rallies.
Also Dennis and Donna Benedict introduced themselves; they have a 30’ travel
trailer.

3. Approval of Minutes: Robyn Kain explained a correction to the minutes to
correct the spelling of Tari Briscoe’s name. The minutes of April 13, 2023 were
moved for approval by Al Giuliani, seconded by Dean Shumacher; motion
passed.

4. Treasurer’s Report: Maureen Williams stated that the reports were sent out to
the club and gave a brief review. Motion to pass was made by Terri Stubblefield,
seconded by Bill Bisson; motion passed.

5. Membership Report: Maggie Giuliani reported that the club now has 57
household members. Also Doug and Marilee Swanson have decided to rejoin
the club.

6. Sunshine Report: Cindy Keller was not present, no report.

7. Historian Report: Ron Darville was present but there were no updates this
month.

8. Social Chair Report: Vicki White

a. May 13th Luau Party: Vicki White shared that the Luau Party will begin at
5:00 pm, please wear your name tags on your Hawaiian themed outfit.
Everything is arranged, Vicki expressed thanks to all that are helping her
out. There is a no host bar that she asked everyone to patronize so that the
minimum charge is met.

b. Holiday Party: Cindy Aimar and Tari Briscoe reported on the arrangements
made to date so far. The party will be held at Turkey Creek Golf Course Club
House on December 14, 2023. The cost will be $45, the club is offsetting a
portion of the meal cost. There will be music and dancing as well.

9. Vice President Report for Rallies: Cara Roberts & Roy Deeble

a. Report on Upcoming 2023 Rallies.
i. Steve Beede reported on the Diamond Lake rally (7/16-21) which is
now full. Klamath Ranch rally (7/16 -26) still has openings. The
Tournament of Roses rally (12/28/2023 – 1/3/2024) has 10 spots
open. Tickets for the parade have been secured as well for other
events to have a pre-parade review of the floats, equines, and
marching bands.
ii. Cheryl Bisson reported on the Gilroy rally (9/22 – 26). There are
spots still open but only 2 left for rigs longer than 35’. There is an
August 24th deadline to sign up. So far, she has not gotten
confirmation that the Renaissance Faire will be held or not.
Regardless, there are several things that the group can do in the area
that will keep everyone interested and occupied.
iii. Cara Roberts reported on Moss Landing rally (9/26 – 10/2) that
immediately follows the Gilroy rally. They are looking into a tour of
the marine center along with other activities. There are still spots
open to sign up.
iv. Lana Venturi reported on the Black Oak Casino rally in Tuolumne
(6/11 – 16). The rally is now full and has 1 party on the waitlist. If
you are interested in the guided tour at the Calvaras Big Trees park,
send in the $5 per person fee to Mary Carbrey. They are also
planning on a tour of Columbia State Park.

b. Report on Rally planning for 2024: Vice Presidents Cara Roberts and Roy
Deeble distributed a list of planned rallies for 2024 (attached). Dates and
locations are subject to change. Many RV parks are not taking group
reservations especially during the Spring of 2024 as the “snowbirds” from
Canada have returned and are taking up many reservations already. That
means everyone will have to make their reservations individually directly
with the park. Lead and Assistant Wagon Masters are needed for each rally,
so please consider which ones you are interested in and whether you can
assist in coordinating a rally or two.
i. Tournament of Roses rally (addressed above 2023 rallies) will have a
contingent going on to Borrego Springs.
ii. February 12 – 15, 2024: Location at Catalina Spa RV Resort,
$375/week or $75/day. You will need to make your reservation
individually, no group contracts allowed – 15 spots available. Call
Maria at 661-754-3212. The RV resort has many amenities such as
pickle ball, pool and spa.
iii. February 15 – 19, 2024: This rally features the Lake Havasu Rockabilly
Festival, a very popular annual event. Rally site is Black Meadow
Landing located at Parker Dam. Call to make reservations at 800-742-
8278, 15 spots available.
iv. March 14 – 19, 2024: Petaluma KOA Resort.
v. April 15 – 19, 2024: Mountain Gate RV Park located near Shasta Lake.
vi. May 13 -17, 2024: Flying Flags RV Resort in the Buellton/Solvang
area.
vii. June 16 -21, 2024: Clio/Graeagle area at the Clio Rivers Edge RV park.
Everyone will need to make individual reservations starting June 16,
2023.
viii. July 8 -12, 2024: Sugar Barge RV Resort, located in the delta region.
The club went there a couple of years ago when another rally was
smoked out by a wildfire, it was an enjoyable stay.
ix. August 5 – TBD, 2024: This rally, named Five Stops, will include stays
at Carson City, Lee Vining (Mono Lake), June Lake, Bridgeport, and
Truckee then heading home.
x. September 9 – 13, 2024: Jackson Rancheria RV Park in Jackson, CA.
xi. September 20 – October 10, 2024: Balloon Festival, Albuquerque,
NM. This rally is already full. However, another rally can be put
together if there are sufficient numbers of club members interested.
Alternate routes and dates can be set up as well.

10. Unfinished Business

a. AED/CPR Classes
i. April 25, 2023: There were 4 club members in attendance.
ii. May 10, 2023: Class Full per the website.
iii. May 23, 2023: Check the website to sign up.

b. AED/CPR Certificates – Club members were reminded that the AED/CPR
certificates expire 2 years after issuance. Be sure to check yours and get recertified before it expires.

c. Website Update: Robyn Kain passed out a screen shot of the website and
reviewed how to access the website at lhrvg.com. It has been reorganized a
bit to make it easier to find information. Robyn invited everyone to check
out the website and give her feedback. She also discussed that the club
roster can be added to the website with password protection. A show of
hands was asked for interest in having the roster back on the website; the
majority favored have the roster on the website. Robyn will begin work on
this.

d. Recipes to Mary Romo from Lodi/Plymouth Rallies: Cara reminded those
who went to the Lodi and Plymouth rallies to send recipes to Mary Romo.

13. Adjournment: A motion was made by Lana Venturi, seconded by Steve Beede.
All in favor. The meeting was adjourned at 5:27 p.m.
