- OLD BUSINESS
CPR/AED training on Feb 17th: The class was well attended by many persons including some from the RV group. Those who attended are eligible for a $10 reimbursement. Send a picture of your certificate of completion to Treasurer Maureen Williams and you will be sent a payment. The RV Group will contact Sun City to request another class as some members could not attend due to calendar conflicts.
- NEW BUSINESS:
- The 2022 Club Expo is Tuesday, March 29th from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Orchard Creek. Our club will have a table reserved with 3 chairs. We need some volunteers to sit at the table to answer any questions about our group. Please contact Vicki White if you are able to volunteer to assist. Next year we will coordinate to set up some RV’s and trailers for display.
- Our July 14th meeting will be Orchard Creek in the Fine Arts Room at 4:30 p.m. There isn’t a kitchen in the room but we are looking to see if we can use the Secret Garden after the meeting for our appetizers. Another option would be the Sports Bar but we would have to order from their menu.
- Rallies for 2023. – (Vicki White & Cara Roberts)
Status: There were locations mentioned for rallies in 2023. They include:
- April 2, 2023 at Lodi Wine Festival for 3 days, then maybe go to Angels Camp for a few days.
- June 18, 2023 at Crater Lake and Diamond Lake in Oregon.
- August 4 -6, 2023 at Hot August nights in Reno, NV, followed by an excursion to Clio River Edge Park. Moreno RV Park in Sparks was mentioned as a location to stay.
- September, 2023 at Black Oak Resort in Tuolumne; there are several adjacent locations to explore. Vicki grew up in the area and said there is much to do and explore.
- October, 2023 at Watsonville for the Gilroy Garlic Festival and Casa de Fruta for the Renaissance Fair. Places to stay need to be explored.
- February, 2023 at Blythe, CA for the Bluegrass Festival. It is a dry camping site but you can park right there at the event site, and it is inexpensive.
- Rob’s Resort in Georgetown, CA near Loon Lake. A dry camping location but the resort
has music, food, bar and dump station.
- Albuquerque, NM was suggested for a trip in November for the balloon festival.
- Rose Bowl Parade, January; discussion was held about a possible trip for the parade. There may be a way to coordinate this to avoid package expenses and reduce the cost.
- Dry Camping – a discussion was held that some members like to dry camp and the group should explore dry camping rallies so that we provide excursions for members of the group who enjoy dry camping. Would also be a way for some to try out dry camping if they have not done it before.
- It was also mentioned it is getting harder to book groups for rallies. Some parks are getting away from groups and requiring individual reservations instead.
- OPEN COMMENTS: Members were invited to share interesting and amusing stories from trips they have taken. Several trip stories were shared with many expressing the warning to not rely solely on GPS for directions to where you are going; danger could be up ahead – narrow bridges, low overhangs, dirt roads, etc.! Check the directions that come with your reservation which sometimes say “don’t use GPS directions!”.
- CELEBRATIONS:
A. Birthdays, Anniversaries, New Rigs, Others: The group received a Toys for Tots Certificate in appreciation of the toys donated from the Holiday banquet. Vicky and Coleman White are celebrating their 50th anniversary and will be taking a river cruise in Europe.
XII. ADJOURMENT: The meeting was adjourned at 5:22 p.m. with appetizers following for all to enjoy.
