Ron was available today with his camera to take pictures of members that did not get their picture taken last month. It is planned to update the website with the new pictures.

  • Social Chair Report (Vicki White): Vicki White noted that the Holiday Party will be held at Sun City Orchard Lodge on December 4th.
  • RALLIES FOR 2022 (Vicki White & Cara Roberts)
  1. May 15th – 20th, Pomo RV Park, Fort Bragg. Wagon Masters Phil & Judy Hayden and Paul & Barbara Virsatis.

Report from Wagon Masters: Comments were made from several of those that attended the rally concerning the beautiful Mendocino Botanical Gardens, and the docents that led the tours were very knowledgeable. You can go to the gardens at different times of the year and will see different plants at full bloom. The rhododendrons were huge and the flowers enormous. The Pomo RV Park was very nice and the spaces were very nice. The group went to an Italian restaurant which handled an unexpected power outage very well, the pizzas were great.

  • June 12th – 17th, Coachland RV Park, Truckee. Wagon Masters: Coleman and Vicki White, Ron Lunsford

Status from Wagon Masters: Vicki White reviewed the itinerary for the upcoming rally. There will be a tour of Tunnel 6, one of the tunnels dug by Chinese immigrants, that now has become an artform of graffiti. There will also be a tour of the Donner State Memorial Park and Emigrant Trail Museum with a docent. Another tour of the Hellman-Ehrmann Mansion at Sugar Pine Point at Lake Tahoe will be held on another day. It is a beautiful resort on the lake shore. The mansion was built by the original owners of Wells Fargo Bank and has since been donated to the State. A tour of the mansion inside is available and encouraged. There will be a picnic lunch following. Golf will be coordinated for Thursday for those interested. There is much to do in the area.

  • August 15th – 20th, Yellowstone Holiday Resort. Wagon Masters: Tom & Sue Moe

Status from Wagon Masters: No report. The status was reported on at the last meeting.

  • September 10th – 27th, Olympic National Park in Washington. Wagon Masters: Marlowe & Sharon Skar and Mike & Mary Romo.

Status from Wagon Masters: No report. The status was reported on at the last meeting.

  • October 16th – 20th, Jackson Rancheria. Wagon Masters: Dean & Betty Schumacher and Roy Deeble & Elena Shroyer

Status from Wagon Masters:  Betty Schumacher reported that the Rally is full with 26 coaches. Additionally, many members have contacted the resort directly for reservations resulting in more members attending than was planned for. Even some former members are coming and staying at the hotel but plan to come to the rally activities. There was much discussion over those attending but not coordinated with the club. It was the consensus of the group that those who desire to participate in the club activities should completed a Rally Application form and pay the $25 fee for food costs and incidentals.

It was noted that more and more parks are requiring individuals make their reservations directly with the park and not coordinating with the RV clubs. This can result in a rally having too many participants which is difficult to manage and make sure everyone is taken care of.

  • OLD BUSINESS
    • The July 14th meeting is scheduled to be at Orchard Creek in the Fine Arts Room at 4:30 p.m. However, since there is no kitchen in the room, no appetizers can be brought to the room. The group will plan to reconvene at the Sports Bar for appetizers and refreshments following the meeting.
  • Updating our By-Laws, Policies, and Wagon Master Responsibilities. The Board has been reviewing these documents. Not enough of the board members are present today to finalize the review, so it will be brought back to the next meeting.
  • Update from Vicki on planning the 2023 rallies. Vicki explained that another rally is being planned for Yosemite National Park at Groveland RV Park. Research needs to be done to figure out how people can get access to Yosemite National Park as advance reservations are now being required during the busy seasons to control the number of persons entering the park. She and Cara are also looking into an Oregon trip and asked for suggestions on where to go in Oregon. Banden and Sisters were among the locations mentioned.
  • AED Training – Mary has received interest from 10 club members who desire to attend the training. She is coordinating with the Sun City trainer and is waiting to hear from him when it will be scheduled.
  • Membership dues payment changes – per the discussion and group consensus at the May 12, 2022 meeting, the membership dues have been changed to one fixed amount for the year, regardless of when a member joins, instead of prorated dues based on date of membership.
  • NEW BUSINESS
    • Open for Suggestions – a request for a Mercedes mechanic was requested, and AB Foreign mechanics were recommended. They are located on Pacific near Sunset in Rocklin.
  1. COMMENTS & SUGGESTIONS
    1. None presented.
  • CELEBRATIONS
    • Birthdays, Anniversaries, New Rigs, Other: Roy Deeble shared his recent purchase of a new to him motor home and the interesting process he went through to acquire the unit. He will be at the Truckee rally with it.
