MINUTES

 

1. Call to Order (Vicki White) – the meeting was called to order at 4:35 p.m. Vicki White is substituting for Jake Baker who is travelling and not available for the meeting. There were 32 club members in attendance.

2. Welcome Guests (Vicki White) – Delbert and Janice Fletcher were introduced. They have a 35 foot 5th trailer and are interested in joining the club. Keith and Lee Ann Betchley were also present and plan to rejoin the club.

3. Membership Report (Vicki White) - there are 56 household members in the club.

4. Approve Minutes of April 11, 2024 (Vicki White) - a motion to approve the minutes was made by Terri Stubblefield, seconded by George Slaats; motion passed.

5. Approve Treasurer’s Reports of April 2024 (Vicki White)
a. Highlights and Changes – Maureen Williams – Maureen reported that the checking account currently has a balance of $9,500.
b. A motion to approve the treasurer reports was made by John Aimar, seconded by Coleman White; motion passed.

6. Sunshine Report (Cindy Keller) – John Aimar reported on the status of the Giuliani’s who currently are in Italy, where Al Giuliani is hospitalized. Those who desire can contact Maggie Giuliani at her email listed in the roster.

7. Historian Report (Mary Romo) – no report.

8. Social Chair Report (Diane Bergeron)
a. May 6th Spring Party – Mary Carbrey reported on the recent May 6th party – it was a success! There were 55 attendees that had a great time. The Mexican food was very good, catered by Casa Ramos. Ron Lunsford coordinated some fun games for everyone to participate in. The bar minimum was exceeded so there is no additional cost to the club. Mary thanked the club members who volunteered to help with the party.
b. December 12th Holiday party at Turkey Creek – the party is still on schedule. Be thinking of any special tunes you would like to hear from the DJ. A request list will be given to the DJ.

9. Vice President Report for Rallies (Vicki White)
a. 2024 Rally Updates – reports were given on the 2024 rallies.
i. Mountain Gate RV Park, Redding. April 18 – 23. Wagon Master Ron Lunsford. This rally was held as planned and was a great success. Activities included a tour of Shasta Dam, exploring the Shasta Caverns at Shasta Lake, group dinner, golf, ice cream social, Red Bluff Rodeo, blind wine tasting, etc. All of the events were fun and well attended.
ii. Flying Flags RV Resort, Buellton/Solvang. May 13 – May 17th. Wagon Masters Robyn Kain & Janet Phillips. Robyn advised that 6 rigs are signed up for this trip. If anyone is still interested to join the group, she suggested that they contact the RV park directly and see if they can get a spot near our group. The itinerary includes a barrel room private tasting at Fess Parker Winery, going to the Ostrich Farm, touring the Santa Ynez botanical garden, group dinner, potluck and various other activities in the area.
iii. Coachland RV Park, Truckee. June 20 – 24. Wagon Masters are Jake Baker and Frank Mason. If anyone is interested in joining the rally, please contact the RV park to get a spot and then send in an application to to Jake and Pam Baker. Activities will include a day train trip from Carson City to Virginia City; touring the Thunderbird House, golfing; hiking.
iv. Bodega Bay RV Park, Bodega Bay. July 8 -12. Wagon Master Roy Deeble. The rally is full. If anyone wants to attend, they will need to contact the park and see if they can get a spot, let Roy know if you plan to join the rally.
v. Jackson Rancheria RV Park, Jackson. September 8 – 13. Wagon Master Betty Schumacher. Betty reported that the rally is full but is accepting waitlist requests.
vi. Balloon Festival, Albuquerque, NM. September 20 – October 10. Wagon Master Patty Holderfield. The rally is full. RV park reservations have been secured.
vii. Feather Falls RV Park, Oroville; November 3 – 8. Wagon Master Vicki & Coleman White, Assistant Wagon Masters Mary & Mike Romo. Vicki White reported that the rally application form has been sent to the members, 24 spaces are available to reserve. An itinerary is being developed.
b. 2025 Rally Plans – Vicki reported that the rally locations for 2025 have been finalized by Ron Lunsford. They include:
i. January & February – open
ii. March 20 – 25: Catalina Spa RV Resort in Desert Hot Springs
iii. April 10 – 14: Flag City RV Park in Lodi; the Asparagus Festival will be in Stockton.
iv. May 28 – June 1: Almond Tree RV Park in Chico
v. June & July: Carson City, Nevada
vi. August – Monterey Fairgrounds
vii. September 17 – 21: Pismo Beach
viii. September 21 – 25: Misson Bay RV Park, San Diego
ix. October 28 – November 2: Vineyards RV Park, Vacaville

10. Unfinished Business (Vicki White)
a. Report on business Cards – Mary Carbrey distributed the new RV Group business cards for everyone to have. She encouraged using the cards when you meet potential new members. The back side of the card is blank so you can write in additional information.
b. Profile Picture for Website – Vicki White mentioned that the website has a page for Member pictures. If you want to change your picture, send it to Robyn Kain who can post in on the website. If anyone is in need to have their picture taken, Vicki will take your picture tonight.

11. New Business (Vicki White) - Ron Darville is working on a new logo for our group communications. Be sure to check out the website, it contains a lot of information – see the Resources tab for information on rig storage and businesses that service rigs.

12. Open Comments (All) – Several members expressed their satisfaction with the services provided by Sacramento Valley RV located near the Lincoln Airport. They also have rig storage spaces available.

13. Adjournment – A motion was made by John Aimar to adjourn the meeting at 5:35 p.m., seconded by Leland Heiner; motion passed.
