MINUTES

 

1. Call to Order: meeting was called to order by President Romo at 4:37 p.m.

2. Introduction of New Members/Guests: New members Linda Bagnall and Ted & Lisa Caliquette were introduced.

3. Approval of Minutes: Move Approval of October 12, 2023 Minutes – motion made by Steve Beede, seconded by Vicki White, motion passed.

4. Treasurer’s Report: Maureen Williams – Move Approval of Treasurer’s Report of October 2023 – motion made by Craig Carbrey, seconded by Jake Baker, motion passed.

5. Membership Report: Maggie Giuliani – there are 64 household members plus the two new ones introduced today.

6. Sunshine Report: Cindy Keller – cards were sent recently to Diane Bergeron and Jane Roman.

7. Historian Report: Ron Darville – no new report. Mary Romo volunteered to be the new Historian for 2024.

8. Social Chair Report: Vicki White

a. Holiday Party – Mary Carbrey: The holiday flyer has been distributed, 31 persons have paid so far. Reservations need to be mailed to Mary.

9. Vice President Report for Rallies
a. Report on Completed and Upcoming 2023 Rallies – no report.
b. Report on Upcoming 2024 Rallies

i. Tournament of Roses Parade Rally – December 28, 2023 – January 3, 2024, Wagon Master Steve Beede. Activities include all the pre-parade events for the marching bands, equine, and floats. Tickets have been secured. A bus has also been secured to get to the parade and back. Four spots are still open, members can still sign up at this time. Guests with RV’s are also welcome to join on this rally. Empty spots will be forfeited back to the park in early December. Some people are continuing their trip afterwards to Borrego Springs and Indian Wells.

ii. Catalina Spa RV Park, Desert Hot Springs. February 8 -15 – this rally has been cancelled.

iii. Mountain Gate RV Park, Redding. April 18 – 23. Wagon Master Ron Lunsford. The park is located 20 minutes north of Redding near Shasta Lake. Plans include exploring the Shasta Lake Caverns, a lake dinner cruise, and the Red Bluff Rodeo Round Up. Craig Carbrey reported that the application will be sent out soon.

iv. Flying Flags RV Resort, Buellton/Solvang. May 13 – May 17th. Wagon Masters Robyn Kain & Janet Phillips. Robyn has sent out the application form. First night deposits are due now to reserve your spot with the balance due later. There are many activities in the area including a motorcycle museum, wine tasting, ostrich farm, golf, etc. An itinerary will be developed as we get closer to the trip date. Mary Romo reported that six rigs have signed up so far, up to 14 spots are available.

v. Coachland RV Park, Truckee. June 20 – 24. Wagon Masters are Jake Baker and Frank Mason. The rally application form has been distributed to the group. He has 9 signups so far, total 18 spots are available. Jake reported activities including a day train trip from Carson City to Virginia City; steam train rides through mining camps; touring the Thunderbird House, golfing; hiking.

vi. Bodega Bay RV Park, Bodega Bay. July 8 -12, Wagon Master Roy Deeble. The rally is already full and has one person on the waitlist. Contact Roy Deeble to be added to the waitlist, he will also try to get additional spots for the rally.

vii. Jackson Rancheria RV Park, Jackson. September 8 – 13, Wagon Master Betty Schumacher. The application form has been sent to the members. Betty asked everyone to send in their applications to Tari Briscoe as she will be out of the country on a trip. Tari reported that 4 spots are still available.

viii. Balloon Festival, Albuquerque, NM. September 20 – October 10, Wagon Master Patty Holderfield. The rally is full, but there is a wait list if you are interested in going. RV park reservations have/are being secured. The rally will go through Bryce – Zion – Grand Canyon National Parks before arriving at the Balloon Festival site.

ix. Sugar Barge RV Resort, Bethel Island. October 14 – 18. A wagon master is needed for this trip.

10. Unfinished Business
a. Revision of Operating Policies & Procedures, and Rally Policies, for Approval by Club Members: Discussion was held concerning the proposed changes. An additional change was proposed that new members joining in the last quarter of the calendar year would not be charged a full membership for that year, but would pay for the new year. The changes were approved by a majority vote of 25 members in favor.

b. Election of 2024 Officers, vote by Club Members – Motion made by Steve Beede, seconded by Richard Beckler to pass the proposed slate of officers listed below, motion passed.
i. Proposed Slate of Officers from Nominating Committee:
1. President – Jake Baker
2. Vice President – Ron Lunsford
3. Membership – Tari Briscoe

c. Historian – Need Volunteer for Board Appointed Position – Mary Romo volunteered to be the historian for next year.

11. New Business
a. Back up for Website Manager – discussion was held on the desire to have a back up for Robyn Kain, the current website manager. Jack Orloff said he would be interested in being the back up.

12. Open Comments
a. Mary Romo discussed a recent Clubs and Committee meeting that she and Robyn Kain attended. The key thing for club members to know is that they should have their own personal insurance in place that covers their rig; the homeowners or auto policy does not provide liability coverage for an RV rig. Check with your insurance agent.
b. A general discussion was conducted about where to purchase tires for RV’s and discounted pricing for RV memberships.

13. Adjournment: Motion to adjourn at 5:07 pm was made by Terri Stubblefield, seconded by Mark Hamilton, motion passed.
