MINUTES
1. Call to Order (Robyn Kain) – the meeting was called to order at 4:30 p.m. There were 34 club members present.
2. Welcome Guests (Robyn Kain) – no guests were present.
3. Membership Report (Cindy Aimar) – there are no new members for the past month. The club has 66 households and 120 members. Cindy reminded everyone of the new password needed to access the roster on the website.
4. Approve Minutes of February 13, 2025 (Robyn Kain) – a motion was made by Vicki White to approve the minutes, seconded by Mike Romo. Motion passed.
5. Treasurer’s Report (Robyn Kain for Patty Holderfield) – due to Patty’s absence, the Treasurer’s Report will be deferred to the April 2025 meeting.
6. Sunshine Report (Robyn Kain for Cyndy Mason) – it was mentioned that Dale Petersen has been in the hospital, is receiving treatment and hopes to be home soon. Also, Rein and Carol Lemberg are selling their Class B rig due to medical issues for them.
7. Historian Report (Ron Darville) – Mary Romo reminded members to see her if you need to add a picture for the member rally page on the website.
a. RV Trivia Question - Mary Romo – Mary shared a story about Jeff Bridges and a family RV trip that he undertook with a rental RV, a 28 foot Jayco. Having no experience with such a rig, it was quite an entertaining story of things not going quite right, including leaving his wife behind at the gas station. You can look up Bridge’s telling of the story on YouTube.
8. Social Chair Report (Robyn Kain for Diane Bergeron) – Robyn showed the Flower Power party announcement that recently went out. Send in your reservation and $23 per person payment to Diane.
9. Vice President Report for Rallies (Robyn Kain for Ron Lunsford)
a. 2025 Rally Updates –
i. Robyn Kain reviewed the Desert Hot Springs rally in February; many activities are planned. Ron Lunsford and Diane Bergeron are the wagon masters. You can still call the park to reserve a space if you wish to join the rally.
ii. Robyn Kain reviewed the activities being explored for Grass Valley in April. Many activities are planned, including a particularly exciting event at the Annual Tulip Festival that will be ongoing while we are there. There will be pickle ball at the RV resort, golfing nearby, tour of the Empire Mine, local shopping, group dinner at a local restaurant, and other activities.
iii. Mary Romo, assistant wagon master, reported on the Arcata rally in northern California with the kinetic races in May – the racers have to self propel their racing machine by human power only and cover 50 miles over the course of the weekend. Sixteen rigs are signed up.
iv. Mary and Mike Romo are the wagon masters for the Minden, NV rally in June; the rally application form has been sent out, please review to sign up and see the information on activities that include a picnic and visit to a distillery.
v. In August, the Lake Siskiyou rally will be held. Interested club members have already reserved their spaces. Ron suggested if you are still interested, contact the park asap to see if a space is still open. Ken and Marilyn Brenk are the lead Wagon Masters and Richard & Glenda Beckler are the assistants. They will be meeting soon to organize the rally.
vi. Robyn reported for Patty Holderfield that the Pismo Coast rally is full. They plan to have a dinner on the beach one evening. Space is still available for Mission Bay RV in San Diego.
vii. Robyn reported that the Vacaville rally is still on, details will come soon.
b. Ideas for 2026 rallies – Robyn reviewed the tentative planning for next year. They include the California coast, Clio/Graeagle, Angeles Camp, Paso Robles, Couer D’Alene, Oregon, and Heber City, Utah so far. Ron will continue to work on this.
c. Club plaques – Robyn stated that Ron still has RV rig plaques with the club logo available for sale at $30 each which includes the mounting brackets.
