MINUTES
1. Call to Order (George Slaats) – the meeting was called to order at 4:31 p.m. There were 56 members and 2 guests in attendance.
2. Welcome Guests (George Slaats) – 2 guests, Kent Nuss and Mike Trumm, attended. George also thanked Maggie Giuliani for
setting up the first Swap Meet for members to bring “unwanted
RV stuff to share”.
3. Approve Minutes of January 8, 2026 (George Slaats) – Secretary Linda Hartman noted a correction to the January 8, 2026 minutes to reflect that Treasurer Patty Holderfield was absent.
a. Motion to approve the corrected minutes of January 8, 2026
was made by Robyn Kain and seconded by Mary Romo.
Motion passed.
4. Approve Treasurer’s Reports of November 2025 and January
2026 (George Slaats) – George Slaats reported that the
November 2025 Treasurer’s report had not been approved by
the club so was now on the agenda for approval. Motion to
approve the November 2025 financials and the January 2026
financials was made by John Aimar and seconded by Ron
Hartman. Motion passed.
5. A motion to approve changes to Wells Fargo Bank key executives as follows was made by Steve Beede and seconded by Jake Baker: Remove Robyn D. Kain as a key executive with Wells Fargo Bank Account; Remove Gerald Baker as a key executive with Wells Fargo Bank Account; Add George Slaats as a key executive with Wells Fargo bank account; Add Gary McGraw as a key executive with Wells Fargo Bank Account. Motion passed.
6. Membership Report (Cara Roberts) – Cara reported there was lots of adjustments to the membership roster with the reintroduction of dues in January 2026. Currently we have 50 rigs and 93 members.
7. Sunshine Report (Cyndy Mason) – Pam Baker reported that Get Well wishes were sent to Coleman White and Vicki Balderama.
8. Historian Report (Ron Darville) – no report at this time.
9. Social Chair Report - Terri Slaats and Cindy Aimar were introduced as Social Chair and Co-Chair. Terri reported that the Spring Fling will be at the Sports Pavilion on April 30, 2026. It will be a Hoedown.
10. Vice President Report for Rallies - Gary McGraw thanked the
committee that has been working with him on developing the
rally plans – Steve Beede, Ron Lunsford, Steve and Debra Romeo,
Tree Justesen, Frank Mason and Dan and Kathy Herbert.
a. 2026 Rally Updates
i. Jackson Rancheria 3/19 - 3/24/26 – Wagon Masters
Gary and Karen McGraw and Rick and Amayra Myers.
Gary reported they have 24 sites in the new section –
the rally is full, but Gary said other spaces in the park
may be available so contact him if you are interested.
Apparently it will be the Dandelion Festival in Jackson
during the rally.
ii. Paso Robles 4/9 - 4/14/26 – Wagon Masters – Steve
and Debra Romeo and Dan and Kathy Herbert. Debra
reported they have 21 rigs. Activities will include
Hearst Castle, wine tasting, golf, the Sensorio Light
Show, Happy Hour, a Potluck and more. The clubhouse
will be available for activities and games. For group
activities, participants will pay the club in order to get
group reservations and rates. Email coming soon to
rally participants with details. If anyone is interested
in going on this rally, contact one of the Wagon
Masters and they will contact the campground to see if
there is availability.
iii. Angels Camp 5/6 - 5/11/26 - Wagon Masters Steve and
Ann Beede and Al and Maggie Giuliani. There 20
reserved sites with 3 openings still available – contact
Steve Beede if interested. Activities include Mercer
Caverns, wine tasting, Columbia State Park, Calaveras
Big Trees, golf at Greenhorn Creek, a scavenger hunt
and a special catered Italian Dinner at the camp
arranged by Al. Itinerary coming out soon.
iv. Central Point, Oregon 6/10 – 6/15/26 – Wagon Masters
Ron Lunsford and Diane Bergeron and Joe and Theresa
Gomes. Activities include Hellgate Boat Tour, wine
tasting, golf, dinner out and more. There are 14 rigs
signed up but there is room for a few more. Contact
Ron Lunsford for an application.
v. Heber City, Utah 8/22 – 8/29/26 – Wagon Masters Jake
and Pam Baker and Craig and Mary Carbrey. This rally
is full, but Jake has a waitlist. The rally starts and ends
in Heber City so participants will need to make their
own plans to get there and back. There are many
activities available and Craig has developed a
spreadsheet for rally attendees to survey interest.
vi. McCloud 9/21 – 9/25/26 – Due to weather concerns
and difficulty booking at Clio, the committee decided
to plan the Fall rally at McCloud RV Park in McCloud.
Wagon Masters are still needed for this rally. Possible
activities include Burney Falls, hiking, golf at Mt. Shasta
Resort, downtown McCloud and downtown Mt. Shasta.
b. 2027 rallies
i. Emerald Desert RV Resort, Palm Desert 2/23 – 2/28/27 – Wagon Masters – Steve and Debra Romeo and Gary
and Karen McGraw. There are 20 sites reserved at a
cost of $90/night. There is a meeting room and the
park has many amenities and will do special events for
our group.
ii. Pueblo El Mirage RV and Golf Resort, Arizona 2/28 –
3/5/27 – Wagon Masters – Steve and Debra Rome and
Gary and Karen McGraw. There are 20 sites reserved
at $85/night or $598/week if you want to stay longer.
There is a meeting room available and the park has
many amenities. Spring Training is the highlight of this
rally with 4 ballparks nearby. Applications will be out
next week as sites must be reserved individually by
3/3/26 with a 50% deposit required. The cancellation
policy is that if the reservation is cancelled more than
30 days prior you get full refund. If cancelled less than
30 days prior there is a $50.00 charge.
iii. Other rallies in the works for 2027 with more
information to come:
1. April – Napa Valley Fair Grounds
2. May – Black Oak Casino
3. July – Bend, Oregon
4. August – Bodega Bay
5. September – Pismo
6. October – Grass Valley
iv. Clipboards will be out after the meeting with interest
signups for the McCloud, Emerald Desert and Pueblo
El Mirage rallies. This indicates interest only.
v. Members were reminded to let the Wagon Masters
know if they need to cancel out of a rally so that if
there are other members interested they can be
contacted.
c. Club signs, hats – Gary reported there are 6 club signs with
mounting brackets available at $30.00 each. Also, we are
looking at getting hats with our club logo like the one Ron
Lunsford is wearing. In the future, we will survey the
membership to see if there is interest.
11. Unfinished Business (George Slaats)
a. Profile Picture - If you have not provided a profile picture for
the website, please consider getting someone to help you
with that while you are here at the meeting.
b. Name Tags – George Slaats reported that each member will
receive 2 new name tags – 1 on a magnetic clip and one that
is double sided to attach to a lanyard. Both name tags will
have the new club logo and names in large print.
c. AED Training and Certification – Cara Roberts reported having
difficulty securing a room assignment for the AED Training.
Jack Orlove volunteered to work with Rex Owens to secure a
room. No date has been set.
12. New Business (George Slaats)
a. Webmaster Guidelines – Robyn Kain discussed the LHRVG
Website Policies. She noted that the website is a public
website with the membership roster information protected
by a password. Robyn also discussed the procedures
members need to follow when they are asking the
Webmaster to send something to the membership. In
particular that it is the members’ responsibility to prepare
the email message to be forwarded to the club; attachments
to the email must be in PDF format for documents and JPG
format for pictures; the email must be “clean” without prior
emails attached to it; and it must include contact
information for the member. There is a section with
information for Wagon Masters about Rally Applications and
also a section on the Member Gallery and how to get a
picture posted. If anyone is interested in assisting with the
website maintenance, contact Robyn.
13. Open Comments (All) – Jack Orlove suggested that a future
meeting members share their “horror stories” from their
introduction to RVing.
14. Adjournment – Motion to adjourn the meeting was made at
5:20 p.m. by Mary Romo and seconded by Terri Slaats. Motion
passed.
