MINUTES

1.  Call to Order (Jake Baker) – the meeting was called to order at 4:31 p.m. There were 41 club members present, two new members and one guest.

2.  Welcome Guests (Jake Baker) – Steve and Pat Grover signed up at the meeting to be club members, and were welcomed by the group. They moved to SCLH about 9 months ago and have a 26’ Class A Winnebago and have travelled extensively with it. Robert Nutter introduced himself; he is looking to purchase a Class C rig and hopes to join the club.

3.  Membership Report (Cindy Aimar)
a.  Introduce New members – Cindy mentioned that Mark and Janet Quillin have joined the club. The Grover’s have signed up today.
b. Total members – we how have 63 households and 122
members.

4. Approve Minutes of April 10, 2025 (Jake Baker) - a motion was
made by Mary Romo to approve the minutes, seconded by Mike
Romo. Motion passed.

5. Treasurer’s Report of March and April, 2025 (Jake Baker) - A
motion to approve the financials was made by Maureen Williams,
seconded by Mary Romo. Motion passed.

6. Sunshine Report (Cyndy Mason) – Cyndy reported that Ron
Lunsford had his knee surgery and all is going well.

7. Historian Report (Ron Darville)
a. RV Trivia Question - Mary Romo – Mary reported on a recent
experience with their rig. She mentioned that periodically
things will fall on their roof such as pine cones, leaves,
branches, etc. and did not think much of it. They recently
had the roof inspected and discovered it had a tear in the
cover that cost over $14k to fix which insurance covered.
The moral of the story is when you hear things fall on your
roof, have someone inspect it right away or get far enough
away where you can see your roof without climbing a ladder
to ensure there is no damage.

8. Social Chair Report (Diane Bergeron)
a. Flower Power Spring Party – the Flower Power party will
happen next Tuesday, May 13th at 5 pm at the Sports
Pavilion. There are 57 persons signed up so far. She brought
a list of signups so everyone can check to make sure their
names are on the list.

9.  Vice President Report for Rallies (Ron Lunsford)
a.  2025 Rally Updates
i.  Robyn Kain reviewed the excellent time everyone had on the rally to Grass Valley. They went to the Empire Mine tour, the Tulip Gardens near Nevada City, and engaged in lots of games, dinners, rock painting and Easter egg coloring. The most surprising event though was a very sudden and unexpected strong wind that came along and lifted up and dumped several pop up canopies that were tied together for the party spot out on the roadway. Unfortunately, all the canopies were wrecked. But everyone in the group stepped up to clear the debris and reset the party area so that the scheduled activities could resume.
ii.  Steve Beede, Wagon Master, reported on the planning for the Arcata rally in northern California with the kinetic races in May – the racers have to self propel their racing machine by human power only and cover 50 miles over the course of the weekend. Other activities include a brewery tour, group dinner, burn your meat BBQ, etc. Fifteen rigs are signed up but more can sign up by contacting the RV park.
iii.  Mary and Mike Romo are the wagon masters for the Minden, NV rally in June. Assistant Wagon Master Maureen Williams reported on planned activities that include a ranch picnic, a prison tour, visit to a distillery and exploring the Genoa area. Eleven rigs have signed up, there is room for more signups. Golf will be at Genoa Lakes, George Slaats is coordinating.
iv.  In August, the Lake Siskiyou rally will be held. Interested club members have already reserved their spaces. Ken and Marilyn Brenk are the lead Wagon Masters and Richard & Glenda Beckler are the assistants. 17 rigs are signed up; there may be a spot or two open, contact Ken if you are interested in joining the rally. Ken explained that he is trying to get the sites closer together and to follow up if he sends out a message to get your site relocated. Richard Beckler is coordinating the golf at Mt. Shasta golf course.
v.  In September, there is a rally at two locations. The first is at Pismo Beach and the camp spots are full. The next part of the rally is to Mission Bay RV in San Diego. Space is still available. Patty Holderfield is working on the itinerary.
vi.  Ron Lunsford has prepared a rally application for the November rally in Vacaville which he brought to the meeting. He is handling the rally for now, but still needs someone to sign up as the wagon master as he has already coordinated the first rally this year. He has lots of information ready to go for the area as he has been on rallies to this location many times.
vii.

The Holiday Party is scheduled for December 21st at Orchard Creek Lodge.

b.  Ideas for 2026 rallies – Ron explained that he has set up the interest sheets for people to sign if they are interested in the tentative schedule locations – this is not a commitment but just an indication for planning purposes. Locations include the California coast, Clio/Graeagle, Angeles Camp, Paso Robles, Couer D’Alene, Oregon, and Heber City, Utah and Jackson Rancheria in March. Ron will continue to work on this.

10.  Unfinished Business (Jake Baker)
a.  Mary Romo reminded club members to submit a traveling picture of themselves so it can be posted to the website.

11.  New Business (Jake Baker)
a.  Posting of Rally Itineraries on Website – Steve Beede discussed how he had a menu item added to the website some years ago where members could post their RV trip itineraries. The idea is so that you could access the information in creating your own trips. So far, Steve is the only one who has posted itineraries and he encouraged others to do so – send your itineraries to the IT Director, Robyn Kain, so she can post them for you.

12.  Open Comments (All)
a.  Coralanne Shoemaker reported that there is a dump station in Lincoln across from Thunder Valley that is open to the public. The cost is $25.
b.  Al Giuliani reported that he is joining the Elks and invited others to come to the meeting on May 15th. About 25 club members are joining him.

13.  Adjournment - A motion to adjourn the meeting at 4:58 p.m. was made by Al Giuliani, seconded by Maureen Williams. Motion passed.
